The Philippine Association of the Record Industry has certified Julie Anne’s self-titled album 9x platinum, and her single, “I’ll Be There,” 4x platinum.
So what’s keeping her from making the big leap to the Araneta stage?
Julie Anne admits she sometimes asks herself this question. But all doubts vanish when she reminds herself there’s such a thing as right timing.
“I would like to believe na hindi pa binibigay ni Lord kasi kailangan ng right timing. Okay lang,” she said at the presscon of Careline, a makeup line for young ladies, of which she is the new endorser.
Besides, Julie Anne thinks it is not for her to question the decision of Anne and Daniel’s management team regarding their career.
No problem with Janine
It’s enough that Julie Anne is happy at how her mother network, GMA 7 is handling her career.
That’s why she’s surprised at reports that she has been negotiating for a transfer to GMA’s rival network, ABS-CBN.
“So far, there are no offers from ABS. Let’s just see sa susunod. I’m open to other offers. It’s God’s will kung saan mang network ako mapadpad.”
She has nothing against GMA’s decision to pair her former love team Elmo Magalona with his rumored girlfriend Janine Gutierrez in “Villa Quintana.”
“Walang problema kung sila ni Janine. Wala kaming ilangan. Bihira kami magkita sa ‘Sunday All Stars’ (GMA’s noontime musical variety show).”
It’s just pure work between her and Elmo, whom she doesn’t mind having another project with someday.
This is good news for JuliElmo fans, who have not lost hope in seeing their idols reunited on the small screen.
But this seems a little far-fetched for now, since GMA is building up Elmo’s love team with Janine.
Julie Anne would rather dream of having a concert with her idol Sarah Geronimo and learn first-hand from the respected international artist.
Julie Anne would rather ignore bashers and forge ahead.
“The Journey,” the song that best describes her present situation, says it all: “Where I'll be tomorrow/I can only guess/Through the darkest desert/Through the deepest snow/Forward, always forward I go/Forward, always forward/Onward, always up…
The future may be uncertain, but Julie Anne knows she will buck all odds to go where she wants to be.
