In the series, the Kapuso young star plays a blind girl gifted with the talent of singing. Her character is inspired by the real-life story of Fatima Soriano.
“I’ve met Fatima Soriano, and her life is so inspiring," Julie Anne said. "It goes to show that even if you are faced with a challenge, you don’t give up. You show people what you are capable of doing."
Julie Anne herself has been doing that since she was 3. Her road to show business began with her participation in "Eat Bulaga's" Little Miss Philippines - the same contest that led to Aiza Seguerra's stardom in her childhood.
Julie Anne did not go that far as a child. But trying out show after show on TV, she proved to be dedicated to her chosen field, showing the drive of youth.
The 19-year-old already has a growing body of performances on her website, apart from a viral music video.
And now, she has another serye, in which she stars with fellow young actor Kristoffer Martin, also of the Kapuso family.
Julie Anne's fans wonder why she's not paired once again with Elmo Magalona - since their team has become quite popular.
“When they gave me this project, si Kristoffer na yung leading man ko [Kristoffer was already my leading man]," Julie Anne said.
"Matagal ko na ring hindi nakakausap si Elmo. [I haven't seen Elmo in a while.] I guess he’s busy with other things."
Julie Anne said he's known Kristoffer "for a long time now, and he’s a very good singer.
"We actually recorded our duet for the series, titled 'I’ll Be There,' which is one of the singles in my self-titled album.”
But if Kristoffer sang the serye theme with Julie Anne, the video version, on the other hand, features Julie Anne with Elmo - a kilig moment that should thrill their fans. - Rappler.com
