The album, which was firs released through iTunes last August 10, immediately landed on iTunes Philippines' No. 1 spot as the most downloaded album. It also entered the sales charts of iTunes Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, HongKong, Macau, and Taiwan, and eventually became one of iTunes Southeast Asia's Top 10 most downloaded albums.

Julie Anne is also the first ever recipient of the Philippine Association of the Record Industry's (PARI) Platinum Digital Single Award for the outstanding digital sales performance of her carrier single "I'll Be There" with over 245,000 downloads (and counting).
The latest single lifted off Julie Anne's album is a pop-rock Tagalog song called "Bakit Ngayon," composed by up and coming band vocalist Barbara Jeanne Ponciano, which is also going to be the love theme of the upcoming primetime Koreanovela "The Greatest Love" which begins airing in GMA-7 on February 11.
Join the phenomenon and grab a copy of Julie Anne's self-titled debut album, available on CDs at Astroplus, Astro Vision, Odyssey, The Landmark, and SM Music & Video outlets nationwide. Kapuso singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose was one of the stars who said to be thinking of auditioning for "Miss Saigon" but she did not appear in the auditions. She said in our interview before that one of her life dreams is to star in a Broadway musical.
Julie Anne's closest showbiz celebrity girl friend, Frencheska Farr, passed the final audtions. She (Julie) was also supposed to be on the list of the auditioness but she didn't make it.
So what's the reason that she didn't for Miss Saigon? She backed out?
"I already have the slip actually pero nagkasakit po ako at di na ako nakapunta kasi I was sick and I really lost my voice kaya hindi ako nakapag-audition. Wednesday 'yung audition pero Sunday pa lang, may sakit na ako. And then it took me like three to four days para magpagaling pero hindi talaga kinaya," Julie Anne answered.
"Hindi ako nakarating kasi hindi talaga kaya. Sobrang sayang lang kasi I've been dreaming na mag-try ng broadway para ibang field naman. 'Di lang dito sa Philippines, at para international din. Kasi 'yung Miss Saigon, ginawa ko siya sa school namin and I portrayed the role of Kim. So somehow medyo may idea na ako," sad Julie Anne shared.
She even let us hear her audition piece "Sun and Moon" from Broadway musical "Miss Saigon." Upon hearing the piece, it seems that she was really prepared for the audition.
Even though she didn't make it to the auditions there are a lot of opportunities and successes opened to her including her platinum self-titled album under GMA Records and lot of endorsements. She may have missed the auditions for "Miss Saigon" but you'll never know. "Miss Saigon" is such a great play but I think that there are more Broadway plays to come here in the Philippines, adaptation, maybe?
We'll never know. Maybe it's better for her to try acting in Philippine theaters first, like Repertory Philippines, or Stages, or Trumpets? What can you say, guys?
